The client's simple requirements were a functional kitchen with more space and an open plan connecting it to the dining room. Our goal was to address the cramped layout and create a more spacious, cozy, and homey environment, reflecting their love for cooking, baking, and family time. To achieve this, we opened up a wall to merge the kitchen with the dining room and added a breakfast nook. We relocated the oven from the galley area to provide the clients, who use it frequently, with ample room. Although we couldn't completely remove the peninsula wall due to waste pipe risers, we used it to conceal the often messy sink and incorporated floating shelving with feature tiling and LED strip lighting. In response to the clients' preference for two-tone cabinetry, we proposed black stained walnut for the lower cabinets for durability and painted the upper cabinets. For the countertops, we chose Silestone quartz in a light tone, using the largest available slab to fabricate the peninsula without seams.

The clients sought a functional primary bathroom with a modern twist on classic design. Our objectives were to completely overhaul the challenging layout and creatively choose finishes. Since the new plumbing for the toilet and sink couldn’t be concealed within the existing wall, we built a half wall that incorporates a shelf. We replaced the traditional 3x6 subway tiles with larger 4x8 tiles, giving the space a contemporary feel. For the flooring, we used affordable hexagon tiles arranged in a custom pattern, adding a touch of elegance. The design features a bold mix of brass and matte black metal finishes, while the custom vanity was stained a striking teal.

The guest bathroom on the third floor features two-tone ceramic wall tiles and a classic basketweave floor. Polished nickel fixtures and black accents complete the design, adding a touch of sophistication.

All four bedrooms received subtle updates, including refinishing the original wood floors, repainting the trimwork, and restoring the original brass hardware on the classic doors.

The basement underwent a comprehensive remodel, featuring dedicated spaces for a laundry area, gym, and family room. The renovation also included an elegant update to the half bath, adorned with black and gold wallpaper and complemented by classic-style plumbing fixtures.

A new HVAC split system was installed throughout the house, enhancing comfort with a touch of modern luxury.

We were thrilled by our clients' openness to our design ideas, which led to a unique project we are incredibly proud of.
